Amy Bissell Announced as Recipient of the 2019 Culinary Arts Scholarship
GAYLORD, MI – On July 18th, 2019 the Gaylord Area Chamber of Commerce presented Amy Bissell with the 2019 Culinary Arts Scholarship in the amount of $600.
Amy has been accepted into the Culinary Arts program at Northwestern Michigan College and will begin her course work this fall. As an Otsego County resident and a hard working culinary student who leads the kitchen at The Loon Golf Resort at the supervisory level, Amy fit the criteria perfectly. David Bourdalais, Director of Operations spoke highly of Amy in his reference letter, at one point touching on Amy’s leadership qualities, “She is the youngest supervisor in company history (13 years), proving her maturity is beyond her years. A natural leader, Amy demonstrates the ability to balance supervising and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.” We’re excited to see where culinary education will lead Amy.
This scholarship was funded by a portion of the 2019 Taste of Gaylord proceeds, thank you to those who made this award possible.

"Under the Big Top!"
It’s that time of year again and we’re ready to feature some of Gaylord’s finest restaurants! The Gaylord Chamber’s annual Taste of Gaylord is “Under the Big Top” this year at the Treetops Resort Convention Center on April 16th from 5:30 – 8:00 PM!
