WRCNM Seeks Nominations for 2026 Tribute Awards

PETOSKEY, Mich. — Women’s Resource Center of Northern Michigan (WRCNM) is seeking nominations for its 2026 Tribute Awards, a biennial celebration recognizing extraordinary individuals whose leadership, service and compassion make Northern Michigan a stronger place to live, work and thrive.

Community members are encouraged to nominate deserving women, young women and men from Antrim, Charlevoix, Cheboygan, Emmet and Otsego counties. Nominees may be well-known community leaders or individuals whose contributions happen quietly behind the scenes. What they share is a commitment to making a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

“Tribute gives us the opportunity to recognize people throughout Northern Michigan who are making their communities better through kindness, leadership, service and action,” said Gail Kloss, WRCNM Executive Director. “There are so many remarkable people doing this work every day, and we encourage community members to help us celebrate them by submitting a nomination.”

Nominations are being accepted in six categories:

Advocacy — A woman whose bold advocacy for a population or cause has resulted in increased community awareness and action on issues of social concern.
Business/Profession — A woman who has demonstrated superior ability or accomplishment in a company, business, organization or association.
Community Service — A woman who has shown outstanding achievement as a volunteer working to better her community.
Pinnacle — A woman who has dedicated a lifetime to service and made meaningful and influential contributions that have positively impacted her community.
Man of Action — A man whose service and actions demonstrate a commitment to the well-being of women.
Youth — A young woman, age 21 or younger, who has demonstrated exceptional character and accomplishments to better herself, her school and her community.

The most recent Tribute Awards were presented in 2024 to Kristin Jardine, Advocacy; Dr. Melanie Manary, Business/Profession; Carolyn Klender, Community Service; David “DJ” Jones, Man of Action; Mary Faculak, Pinnacle; and Kira Miller, Youth.

The 2026 Tribute Awards will be held Tuesday, November 10, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Perry Hotel in Petoskey. The evening will include heavy appetizers and an awards ceremony celebrating this year’s honorees. Tickets are $50.

Community members are encouraged to nominate someone whose contributions deserve to be recognized. Nomination forms and additional information are available at wrcnm.org/tribute-awards.
