100+ Women Who Care
What is 100+ Women Who Care?
- A one-hour, no-frills event where 100% of all donations stay in Otsego County.
- A unique opportunity to champion a local non-profit whose work you are passionate about. The evening’s winner will receive a $5,000 grant.
- A chance to learn about the amazing work of local non-profits.
- A group of women who are making a positive impact in our community today and in the future.
- A way to increase the impact of your individual contribution.
What to Expect
- At 5:00 PM, guests will check in, receive their voting ballot, mingle, and visit nonprofit tables. The event officially begins at 6:00 PM with opening remarks and an explanation of the nonprofit selection and voting process.
- Four nominated nonprofits are then chosen at random, and each nominating participant is given five minutes to present, followed by a brief Q&A. After all presentations, attendees submit their anonymous ballots while votes are tabulated.
- The nonprofit that received funding at the previous event will share a short update on how the donation was used and the impact it made. The evening concludes with the announcement of the nonprofit receiving the most votes. The nonprofit earning the most votes will receive a $5,000 grant!
- We’re excited to share that this year’s event will take place in downtown Gaylord. At the conclusion of the event, we encourage attendees to continue connecting with friends—new and old—by enjoying one of our wonderful local eateries just steps away.
Nominations
We will accept nonprofit nominations until May 5th!
The more nominations, the better the chances of your favorite nonprofit being chosen to receive a grant.
Nonprofits must be:
Local and serving Otsego County A 501 (c)(3) organization, government, or school. Only registered attendees of 100+ Women Who Care are eligible to nominate a nonprofit. These requirements help ensure that the nonprofit follows best practices.A Note About Presenting Your Nomination
If you nominate an organization and your name is drawn on the night of the event, the expectation is that you will come to the podium and share your heartfelt story with the group.Your presentation can be statistical and informative, warm and personal, or a mix of both — whatever feels most authentic and best conveys why this nonprofit matters to you.
We share this in advance because, in the past, some speakers felt nervous or surprised by the expectation to present. We want all attendees to feel comfortable, prepared, and supported when sharing a cause they care deeply about.
