Munson Healthcare Donates $7,500 to Women’s Resource Center of Northern Michigan to Support Trauma Informed Care

Petoskey, MI — Munson Healthcare has made a $7,500 donation to the Women’s Resource Center of Northern Michigan (WRCNM) to support expanded access to mental health counseling services and enhancements to survivor centered spaces at the organization’s Summit Park Drive facility in Petoskey. The investment aligns with Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) priorities focused on mental health and economic security.

“This support reflects a commitment to standing with survivors and investing in a community where safety and dignity are not privileges, but rights,” said Gail Kloss, Executive Director. “Support like this strengthens our ability to remain survivor centered, trauma informed, and accountable to those who need us most.”

By strengthening both services and physical space, the investment helps ensure survivors experience care that is consistent, trauma-informed, and responsive to their needs. These enhancements support pathways to stability by helping families regain a sense of safety, remain housed and employed, and move toward long-term economic security following crisis.

“This partnership reflects Munson’s commitment to addressing the conditions that support recovery, stability, and long-term well-being,” said Kirsten Korth-White, President & CEO, Munson Healthcare East Region. “Access to quality mental health care and supportive services is essential to individual health and to strengthening economic security across our communities.”

In addition to the financial contribution, Munson staff recently participated in a volunteer beautification project at the WRCNM Safe Home. A team of Munson volunteers completed outdoor cleanup and maintenance projects and general grounds work, helping support a safe and welcoming environment for residents.

“Our teams value opportunities to support trusted community partners in practical ways,” said Korth-White. “This work reflects our shared commitment to safety, dignity, and access to care.”

Through financial investment and volunteer engagement, Munson Healthcare continues to strengthen partnerships that advance health, safety, and economic stability across Northern Michigan.
