Downtown Cleanup Project Taking Place on Earth Day
April 15, 2025Downtown Cleanup Project Taking Place on Earth Day
(Gaylord) – Community members, visitors and corporate partners are invited to take part in the annual Downtown Gaylord Earth Day Clean-up on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, from 3:30pm until approximately 5:30p.m. This volunteer-driven event aims to beautify downtown Gaylord while promoting care for shared public spaces.
“We know cleanup efforts are being done throughout our entire area as nature is healing from the recent ice storm. The DDA focuses on keeping our downtown vibrant and hosts this event each year. It seems especially fitting with what our community is currently working through,” commented Ryan Kennedy, owner of Brennan’s Up North and DDA Board member.
Anyone interested in helping is encouraged to be at the kickoff under the Pavilion on Court Street at 3:30 p.m. for directions and supplies. Those unable to help for the full duration can come at any time to pitch in. “Bring gloves and rakes; we’ll have garbage bags. Just stop by and donate whatever time you can,” Kennedy said. “You’ll see people cleaning all over downtown, so feel free to just jump in.”
The DDA is the governing body of the City of Gaylord’s Downtown District that strives to encourage historic preservation, create and implement development plans and promote economic growth in our area.
