    Consumers Energy Foundation Gives $50,000 to Support Disaster Relief Efforts in Northern MI After Ice Storm

    JACKSON, Mich. May 8, 2025 — The Consumers Energy Foundation announced today the donation of $50,000 to three organizations in northern Michigan to help with disaster relief efforts following March’s historic storm, which coated much of the region with more than 1 inch of ice and resulted in millions of dollars in damage.

    The grant recipients are:
    · Community Foundation for Northeast Michigan — Urgent Needs Fund ($30,000)
    · Otsego Community Foundation — Disaster Relief Fund ($10,000)
    · Petoskey-Harbor Springs Area Community Foundation — Emergency Response Fund ($10,000)

    Community Foundations across the region have been making grants to local government agencies and nonprofit organizations engaged in disaster relief efforts including debris clean up, drop off centers, and essential services like food, shelter, and other financial assistance to address the needs of residents and small businesses impacted by the storm.
