    Direct Care Service Worker Openings

    Direct care service provider positions are available at the Otsego County Commission on Aging 
    (OCCOA). Agency is seeking caring, compassionate persons with excellent professional skills. 
    Certified Nursing Aid (CNA) certification is preferred. Training is available. Must be “team players” 
    committed to policies and procedures of the agency.

    Responsibilities 

    Direct care service providers assist area older adults with: 

    • Light homemaking tasks
    • Personal Care: Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, 
    grooming, and meal preparation
    • Respite Care
    • Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for clients 
    Experience 
    • Previous experience in home health preferred but not required 
    • Strong interpersonal skills with a compassionate approach to client care
    The direct care worker hourly wage for providers with CNA certification is $23.33. The direct care 
    worker hourly wage for providers without CNA certification is $20.19. A cafeteria-style benefits plan 
    is included. 

    Work schedules provide and require flexibility. A strong asset of dependability is necessary. Position 
    requires accepting short/long term assignments on short notice. 

    Candidates must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Pre-employment drugscreen testing, as well as a physical exam, is required.
