Conservation Con, held Sept. 26 at Treetops Resort, connected residents with resources to help prepare for extreme weather events like those which have impacted our community over the last several years.

Hosted by Huron Pines, HeadWaters Land Conservancy and Otsego Conservation District, the workshop brought together 11 agencies from across the region to share resources for storm preparedness and response. Attendees heard from experts on disaster response, forest management, wildfire, public health, flooding and more.

Our community has been through a lot recently including a tornado, ice storms, floods and days awash in wildfire smoke. While these extreme events have tested us, they have also shown us the power of working together. Thank you to everyone who attended, volunteered or presented, and special thanks to the Otsego Community Foundation's Disaster Response Fund and ITC Holdings for supporting the event.
