  • The DOWNTOWN MERCHANTS ASSOCIATION (DMA) is a group of brick & mortar business owners in the Gaylord, Michigan downtown-shopping district), that plans, organizes and executes shopping and community events for that district.

    DMA MISSION: Support brick and mortar businesses in the DMA district.   Increase customers and enhance the downtown experience through community and shopping events.

The Herald Times has won Michigan's Newspaper of the Year 22 of the past 26 years, including most recent in 2017. The Herald Times publishes two print editions per week, the weekly Marketplace publication, the Phone Guide, manages a daily web page and social media presence and more than 20 guides and special publications. The Herald Times is owned by Schurz Communications based in Mishawaka, Indiana, and is sister paper with the Petoskey News-Review and Charlevoix Courier.
