All are invited to Song of the Morning on Thursday, June 21 for a complimentary vegetarian dinner and “Bringing Meditation Into Your Life” class in celebration of the 4th Annual International Day of Yoga! This day is recognized around the globe as a way to mark the timeless teachings of yoga originating from ancient India--methods that provide much more than just an exercise routine. Yoga is a scientific technique for bringing an inner sense of peace and harmony to all of life's experiences. This year Song of the Morning will be partnering with Yoga45 to invite as many people as possible into experiencing the healing benefits of yoga. A donation-based yoga class will be offered at Yoga45, and at Song of the Morning, a delicious and nutritious vegetarian meal will be offered at no charge. Following dinner, a class will be held designed for those who are new to meditation, or for those wanting to refresh their understanding of meditation practice. In this half hour presentation, Dr. Gary Saks will be discussing the benefits of meditation, including why meditation can be difficult and how to overcome obstacles that may prevent us from having a meaningful experience. The evening will conclude with the uplifting practice of community kirtan (traditional devotional chanting originating in India) and a guided meditation. All activities are FREE and everyone is welcome to join for whatever portion of the programming they would like to attend! Please register on our website preferably one day in advance if you wish to make a dinner reservation.
