Soldier Care, a ministry of Gaylord E-Free Church, under the umbrella of its Counseling and One Another Ministries, will be dedicating a whole 10:30 a.m. service November 12 to the honoring of both Veterans and their families. The service will be divided into 3 sections: Honoring Families, Honoring the Fallen, and Honoring Veterans. Families can easily be overlooked in what they endure when a family member is in the service and especially if they are deployed. Those in attendance will hear from the perspective of children who have experienced a parent being deployed, a spouse whose husband was deployed multiple times, a set of parents whose son is expected to be deployed literally at any moment, and a veteran who completed several tours of duty sharing his perspective as a son, spouse, and father. The second part of the service will be set aside to honor those who have made the ultimate sacrifice of their life. A special remembrance wreath will be presented in a formal ceremony by parents who know first hand the lost that can be connected to combat sustained trauma. The third focus will be honoring veterans from every branch with a special recognition of those currently serving in the military. Veterans are encouraged to wear any apparel representing their service: uniforms, caps, medals, ribbons, and jackets. This service is open to the public and the entire community is invited to join in this great opportunity to honor our veterans. The 10:30 a.m. service will be in the E-Free Gospel Center, 1649 M-32 East (2.6 miles from I-75, south side of the road).
