DESCRIPTION:Join us at the Alpena Duck Park on Saturday\, August 2nd\, starting at 9:00 AM for fun-filled festivities. This year promises an expanded array of activities for the community\, with competitive kayak races as the main attraction\, alongside a variety of family-friendly events. The kayak races return with a thrilling new format\, featuring two divisions: Sport and Recreational. Both races will set off from Alpena Duck Park\, located at 1510 W Chisholm St.\, Alpena\, MI 49707. The Sport Division race kicks off at 9:00 AM\, followed by the Recreational Division at 9:15 AM. Prizes for the Sport Division start at $1000\, while the Recreational Division offers prizes starting at $500. Participants can register for the kayak races at northlandcu.com/northlandchallenge. Early registration is set at $25\, while day-of registration is $35. A discounted rate of $20 is available for BAC Members\, First Responders\, Healthcare Workers\, Veterans\, and Linemen. Beyond the exhilarating kayak races\, the Northland Challenge will feature an Arts & Craft Show\, Doggy Derby\, Food Trucks\, Face Painting\, and more.
