DESCRIPTION:Memorial Day Parade. Line up begins at 9:30 am in the Subway parking lot on M-32 (Main\n\nStreet).\n\n\n\nParade starts at 10:00am. The VFW will be carrying a 20'x30' American Flag down main\n\nstreet. All are welcome to help carry the flag and march in the parade.\n\n \n\nMemorial Day Ceremony: Approximately 11:00am\, in front of the Otsego County War\n\nMemorial on the corner of Main Street and South Court Avenue\, immediately following the\n\nparade. The program will include guest speaker U.S. Navy Retired\, Senior Chief Ryan Sanderson\n\nand wreath presentations by numerous organizations.\n\n \n\nNational Moment of Silence: To be observed at 3:00pm. Take the time to pray in silence for all\n\nwho have sacrificed much for us.\n\n \n\nFly your American Flag at Half Mast: This is a "National Day of Mourning" and it is traditional to\n\nfly the American flag at half-mast.\n\n \n\nFlag Placement: The VFW has placed 1750 American flags on the graves of our Veterans in 12\n\nlocal cemeteries to acknowledge their sacrifices. Visit a cemetery and say a prayer of\n\nthanks at the grave of a Veteran to pay them respect and honor.\n\n \n\nCome and be a part of this special "Day of Remembrance" to honor the memory of our many loved ones\n\nwhat have put themselves in harm's way for our freedoms.
