Jerry Fox Selected as 2008 Alpenfest Parade Marshal

(GAYLORD) The Alpenfest Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Jerry Fox, retired local business owner, has been selected as the Parade Marshal for the 2008 Alpenfest community celebration.

Jerry Fox owned and operated Ford Hardware in downtown Gaylord for 36 years.He closed the store and retired in December 1990.He was on the original Alpine Festival (the original name for Alpenfest) organizing committee in 1965, and served on that committee for thirteen years total.In the early years of our festival, Jerry and other local business leaders actually contributed their personal funds in order to “balance the books” for the festival.

Jerry and his wife Beuna have been married for 57 years. Their son David lives in South Carolina and their daughter Marsha lives in Gaylord.They have five grandchildren.

Please join the Alpenfest Board of Directors and the Gaylord/Otsego County Chamber of Commerce in congratulating Jerry Fox for being selected the 2008 Alpenfest Parade Marshal.

Jerry will be honored at the annual Alpenfest Honors Luncheon, to be held at The Otsego Club’s Special Event Center at noon on July 15th. Tickets will go on sale in June.
