Fairy Garden Make & Take Class at Castle Farms

Create your very own miniature garden to lure in fairies, dragons, and garden gnomes.

Our Fairy Garden Classes are taught by a Master Gardener and include soil and 1 miniature plant to get you started. Our gardener will begin with a brief history of how miniature gardens began and move on to instructing the class on the key aspects of creating a fairy garden. Perfect for ages 8 to 88. Bring your own container or purchase one with your ticket. Hurry- a limited number are available! Fairy homes, decor, and accessories are available for purchase in the Gift Shop.

Sojourn Lakeside Resort wants you for an adventure into the world of horses that is FUN for the entire Family! Equine Guided Learning (EGL) can help families learn to have better communication and work as a team – in a safe and nurturing environment. All activities are experienced from the ground. No previous horse experience needed. Kids must be at least 5 years old to participate. Closed toed shoes only.  These sessions fill quickly. Sign up now!~ $ 35.00 per person.

WHAT IS A BIOBLITZ?

A BioBlitz is part festival, part educational and part scientific event in which teams of volunteer scientists, families, students, teachers, and community members of all ages work together to find and identify as many species of plants, animals, microbes, fungi, and other organisms as possible

About the Day's Activities:
Scientists from sponsor organizations will be stationed at various locations at the Gaylord Community Schools Learning Center/Aspen Park to help participants engage in unique research.

This year’s Bioblitz offers family friendly games, art and nature exploration such as:   

Face painting.
Archery
Passport to Nature:  Receive your BioBlitz Citizen Scientist pin.
Sign-up for Biodiversity University and earn a National Geographic Society Biodiversity Certificate.

We will explore the fundamentals of Equine Guided Learning (EGL) as well as practice yoga both on the ground and on horseback. Discover your inner Centaur and experience a deeper connection in the present moment through partnering with the horse. No previous horse experience needed.  Just come open and ready to explore! $ 150.00 /per person. Includes: all horse activities – water  and snacks. These workshops fill quickly. $ 50.00 deposit holds your spot.  Must be at least 12 years old to participate and not weighing over 220 lbs.

All activities are done from the ground and will inspire you to make positive change no matter what your experience is. Dress appropriate for the weather with closed toe shoes. Must be a least 16 years old.  $ 150.00 /per person, Includes: all horse activities, water and snacks.  $ 50.00 deposit holds your spot. Come connect with us and our intuitive herd of horses for a powerful and memorable experience.

Michigan Centaurs: Horse Archery Clinic

Horse Archery is an ancient art of skill, connection, focus and Zen. Also, one of the fastest growing sports around! Join us for a full day of fun as you learn the ancient practice of Mounted Archery. This introductory clinic is designed for you to:

• Learn the fundamentals of archery from the ground and horseback
• Desensitize your horse to allow you to safely shoot and ride
• Build trust  and confidence in a cohesive partnership
• Increase self-awareness and develop better focus                    
​  Be part of a growing community with Michigan Centaurs!
$175/horse and rider team; Includes a full day of instruction, all archery equipment and a box lunch. 

$50 deposit required to hold your spot.  Class size is limited to 12. Must be at least 12 years old and have previous riding experience. Helmet not included.
Ground Archery Only= $40/person  Auditor=$15/day, must bring your own chair.
*We are certified level one horse archery instructors and members of Horse Archery USA.
​**If you are bringing a horse, you must show proof of negative coggins test.
