Coffee and Conversation with Veterans
MISSION: A coffee and conversation hour where military veterans are encouraged to connect with other veterans to share story’s, experience’s or the news of the day.
TIME: 0900hrs to 1000hrs (9am-10am)
Date: First Wednesday of each month (Starting 5 Nov 2014)
Terrain-Location: Gaylord Regional Airport Terminal
Objective: Provide a rally point for all veterans to come and socialize over complementary coffee and donuts.
- Each month a surprise guest coffee drinker will join us.
- No format, No presentations, No agendas, just coffee and conversation

"Gear Up fo Saftey" at the Otsego County Sportsplex
On Wednesday, June 28th , McLaren Northern Michigan and area businesses are sponsoring the “Gear Up for Safety” event. The free event will be held at the Otsego County Sportsplex, located at 1250 Gornick Avenue in Gaylord, from 3-5 p.m. Activities will include:
Helmet Checks –Bring in your helmet and McLaren Northern Michigan will make sure it is fitted properly.
Water Safety – Otsego County Sportsplex will have a lifeguard on hand talking about how to stay safe in, on, and near the water.
Sun Safety – McLaren Northern Michigan will help you stay sun safe; just Slip, Slop, Slap, Wrap! Activity: Make your own sun bracelet.
Vehicle Safety – What is considered distracted driving? Find out and receive a free “No Texting” cellphone bag for participating.
General Safety – Michigan State Police will be onsite providing free fingerprinting and child ID kits, as well as general safety tips for kids.
Register to win with Great Start Collaborative Cheboygan-Otsego-Presque Isle Counties for a free bike helmet, sponsored by R-N-R Excavating and Storage in Millersburg, MI. Additional activities and giveaways will be available to those who participate.

Fairy Garden Make & Take Class at Castle Farms
Create your very own miniature garden to lure in fairies, dragons, and garden gnomes.
Our Fairy Garden Classes are taught by a Master Gardener and include soil and 1 miniature plant to get you started. Our gardener will begin with a brief history of how miniature gardens began and move on to instructing the class on the key aspects of creating a fairy garden. Perfect for ages 8 to 88. Bring your own container or purchase one with your ticket. Hurry- a limited number are available! Fairy homes, decor, and accessories are available for purchase in the Gift Shop.
