Mystical Love Songs
There is an ancient tradition of poetry being read from books & sung with music. Jennifer Burd, teacher, editor, & published poet, joins Laszlo Slomovits, award-winning songwriter, composer & singer, to present Mystical Love Songs at Song of the Morning (SOM). The poems range from the spiritual lyrics of the 12th & 13th Century Sufi mystics, Rumi & Hafiz, to classic poems of American greats, Robert Frost & Emily Dickinson, up to the contemporary Naomi Shihab Nye, Daniel Gerber & Linda Nemec Foster. Please join us for music & sweet treats. This concert is to help us continue the vision of SOM by creating a new generation of yoga teachers. The goal of this afternoon is to raise $1,800, to send 3 Song of the Morning Staff Members, to teacher training. The suggested donation is $20; if your heart feels so inclined please consider a greater donation to carry on this important mission. Make a day of it, with service at 11 a.m. & dinner at 1 p.m. Call in advance to make dinner reservations
