Independent Bank offices will be making the most of summer’s longer days on July 29 with extended hours and special promotions. Bank associates will celebrate the start of the new cycle in the bank’s gift program, which offers free gifts to new customers and current customers who refer friends and family to Independent Bank’s free checking.

Visitors can enter for a chance to win a $500 gift card and can take advantage of a special Friday CD rate. Independent Bank offices in Alpena, East Tawas, Gaylord, Glennie, Hale, Hillman, Houghton Lake, Hubbard Lake, Oscoda, Rogers City, Rose City, Tawas, West Branch and Whittemore areas will host a special community event on Friday, July 29.

Free Friday is unique because Independent Bank's offices in these areas will feature extended hours from 7 am to 7 pm. It also includes special offers and a variety of activities that community members can participate in. Each office will highlight a different theme with a variety of activities.

For example, the Glennie office is hosting a silent auction throughout the day to support the Curtis Area Emergency Relief Fund. The Houghton Lake office is collecting donations for the Lake Township community by sponsoring a dunk tank. In Rose City, the local Boy Scouts are hosting a hot dog lunch and the Humane Society will visit the office later in the morning with pets that are available for adoption.
