The Ancient Order of Hibernian's 20th Annual Irish Party
St. Patrick’s Day Celebration
The Ancient Order of Hibernian's 20th Annual Irish Party is being held at the Knights of Columbus Hall, located on Wilkinson Road in Gaylord, on Saturday, March 4, 2017 beginning at 7:00 pm. Music will be provided by Jerry Belanger and Doug Berkshire of the “Pub Runners”. The Irish Dance Club of Lansing will demonstrate traditional Irish dance. Plus, Irish and Scottish gifts will be available in the boutique. Light refreshments and beverages will be available at nominal cost. AAUW 2017 Woman Making History Luncheon
AAUW Gaylord Area Branch will honor Maureen Derenzy as the 2017 Woman Making History at the Saturday, March 4 luncheon. Maureen, the Otsego County Library Director, has championed literacy in our area for decades. Our library has won statewide awards and continues to provide the highest level of services. Maureen has been described as professional, practical, knowledgeable and dedicated. A silent auction will raise funds for scholarships for local girls and women.

Dog Sledding at Treetops Resort
WHAT: Join Team Evergreen and Liza Dietzen and take an exhilarating ride through the trails on the Jones Masterpiece Golf Course behind a team of dogs that is training for the ultimate sled dog race, “The Iditarod.” Each ride will take you two miles through quite possibly the prettiest trails in northern Michigan. This experience can be enjoyed individually or with a child.
WHEN: December 29, 30 & 31, January 14 & 15, February 11 & 12, and March 4 & 5. Rides are scheduled throughout the day. Call our Reservations Department for a time slot before they fill up.
HOW: Advance reservations are suggested and pre-payment is required at the time of booking. Check in at the Activities Center at least 15 minutes in advance of your scheduled time.
COST: $50 per person, ($15 for additional person in sled). A “sled load” consists of the following:
1 adult under 200 lbs.
1 adult and 1 child under 200 lbs.
2 children under 200 lbs. A separate time slot must be booked for each “sled load.” To accommodate families, it is recommended that you reserve time slots that are back to back.
Meet and Greet the Dogs
If you’d like to meet the dogs up close and hear some history and information about dog sledding, this activity is for you. Join is on select dates and times this season for a ½ hour informational and interactive time with the dogs and the mushers.
WHEN: December 30, January 14, February 11, and March 4 – 1:00 pm
HOW : Show up at the Activity Center and make your way across the street to meet the dogs.
