History
The Chamber has grown leaps and bounds since is was first founded in 1940. It has established a Board of Directors, created events to better serve its Members, and created awards to honor the great thing Chamber Members do each year.
We are excited about the growth of Alpenfest since it was first held July 5-10, 1965; it was originally called "Gaylord Alpine Festival". This community festival takes many volunteers to make it the success it is; including the Alpenfest Board which works effortlessly throughout the year.
We are proud to be the owner and caretaker of the 1911 Gaylord 30 antique automobile which was purchased in 1981 with the help of the community; if you haven't stopped into the Information Center lately to see it, you should take some time to stop by.
From identifying leaders with the founding of the Leadership Otsego County Program in 2004 to staying current with the creation of a new website in 2009, the Chamber is continuing to grow.
